FAMILY BATHROOM
For this project in Rosanna, we transformed a tired, old laundry and separate toilet into a stunning family bathroom that perfectly balances functionality with serene beauty. Situated on a property that backs onto parkland and lush bushland, the design vision was to reflect the natural surroundings and create a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors.
The layout underwent a significant transformation to maximize space and light, turning a dark and confined area into an inviting retreat. A focus on natural textures and warm tones set the foundation for the design. We incorporated a beige terrazzo tile that evokes the earthy hues of the surrounding landscape, with subtle hints of peach that add warmth and brightness. This thoughtful choice not only brings light to the room but also creates a calming, nature-inspired ambiance.
To complement the terrazzo, we selected a textured render tile in earthy tones, which enhanced the organic feel of the space. For the cabinetry, Florentine walnut from ADP was chosen to introduce contrast and richness, tying together the natural palette. Fixtures in Mier's warm brushed nickel added a soft, luxurious glow, elevating the overall aesthetic with understated elegance.
Curves were a recurring design motif, inspired by the gentle, rounded forms found in nature. The soft edges of the terrazzo pebbles were echoed in the curved vanity, freestanding bath, and paddle-shaped tapware. This cohesive use of curves created a sense of flow and harmony, adding both visual interest and a contemporary touch to the design.
The result is a tranquil, light-filled bathroom that serves as a sanctuary for our clients. By combining timeless materials, thoughtful details, and a connection to the natural environment, this modern bathroom offers a perfect blend of practicality and beauty, providing a space to unwind and rejuvenate for years to come.
