ELTHAM
FAMILY BATHROOM & LAUNDRY
Our Eltham Project was all about breathing new life into a home while respecting its mid-century roots. This bathroom and laundry renovation was a dramatic transformation, turning outdated spaces into fresh, modern sanctuaries that seamlessly integrate with the rest of the home.
Built in the 1980s, the house has a distinct mid-century influence that our clients adore. Our goal was to create a design that not only modernized these essential spaces but also remained true to the home's character.
To achieve this, we introduced warm Tasmanian oak cabinetry in the bathroom, carefully selected to complement the existing furniture throughout the home. In the laundry, we made a bold yet harmonious choice by incorporating a beautiful green cabinetry finish, adding a touch of personality while maintaining a cohesive design flow.
A key design challenge was the limited natural light. To counter this, we opted for a lappato-finished concrete-look tile, which helps reflect light and creates a bright, airy atmosphere. Additionally, we introduced a stunning wavy-edged subway and square tile laid in a random pattern, adding depth and texture while keeping the palette clean and timeless in classic white. We also used brushed nickel tapware from Phoenix, enhancing the overall aesthetic with a sleek and modern finish.
The result is a thoughtfully designed, beautifully updated bathroom and laundry that perfectly balance modern style with mid-century charm—just like our clients envisioned.
