SURREY HILLS

FAMILY BATHROOM, LAUNDRY, TWO POWDER ROOMS

Embarking on our Surrey Hills project, we undertook the transformation of an upstairs main bathroom, upstairs powder room, and a downstairs laundry and powder room. Despite the home's overall beauty, these spaces lagged behind in both style and modern updates. Our client's vision was clear: a timeless design infused with a contemporary flair, striking the perfect balance between tradition and modernity.

The client's wish list included luxurious marble tiles, sleek black cabinetry in the laundry, captivating wallpaper in the downstairs powder room, and a show-stopping timber vanity that resembled a piece of exquisite furniture. The main bathroom, in particular, showed signs of wear and tear, with an outdated aesthetic. While the layout was fundamentally functional, a bit of clutter made the space feel confined. Our primary focus was to enhance the perceived spaciousness and create a tranquil haven where relaxation could take center stage.

For the family bathroom's modern yet traditional aesthetic, we selected Lighting Collective's classic lighting in an antique brass finish, adding a touch of timeless elegance. Faucet Strommen, featuring a Discovery bronze finish with an earthy tone reminiscent of weathered bronze, was seamlessly integrated throughout the upstairs spaces and in the laundry.

In the laundry, we maintained the existing layout while strategically removing a laundry shoot connected to the upstairs bathroom. This alteration provided more bench space and accommodated a washer and dryer beneath the bench. The wall-to-wall cabinetry was revamped with custom drawer fronts in a shaker style, painted in the sophisticated "No Battery" hue from Tint Paint.

Adjacent to the laundry, the downstairs powder room underwent a stunning transformation. The chosen paint colour was extended to the wainscoting and ceiling, creating a cohesive and moody atmosphere. The pièce de résistance was the intricate floral wallpaper, complete with tiny bugs on the flowers, wrapping around the powder room walls. To address a potential visual concern, we strategically switched the positions of the toilet and basin, ensuring a more discreet view from the living room.

Meanwhile, the upstairs powder room received a refresh to harmonize with the adjacent main bathroom. The result is a collection of rejuvenated spaces that seamlessly blend timeless design with contemporary elements, fulfilling our client's vision for a home that radiates sophistication and functionality.
