ST HELENA
Main Bathroom & Ensuite
Our clients wanted modernity, a bathroom that was comfortable and well appointed, with warm tones throughout. The homeowners also wanted to source mostly Australian-made products, with Italian tiles.
Transforming the existing cramped bathroom space was a priority for our clients. Initially, the bathroom featured a separate toilet, making the area feel smaller than desired. To open up the space, the dividing wall between the bathroom and toilet was removed, creating a more expansive layout.
Introducing natural light became a focal point of the redesign, achieved through the addition of a skylight that bathes the entire space in sunlight. The layout was reconfigured to include a larger double vanity, a more spacious bath, an integrated toilet, and a generously sized walk-in shower. This transformation turned a once confined area into a luxurious and functional retreat.
The Ensuite faced similar challenges with its dark and cramped ambiance. To optimize the limited space, we strategically reduced the vanity size and relocated the toilet next to it, allowing ample room for a stylish walk-in shower. The inclusion of a skylight further enhanced the perception of space, making the Ensuite feel significantly larger.
Both spaces were unified through the use of a sophisticated grey travertine-look tile. The main bathroom exudes timeless elegance with its Hampton-style vanity, while the Ensuite adopts a more modern aesthetic featuring a warm timber vanity. The cohesive design was complemented by the use of Phoenix Mekko tapware in brushed nickel, adding a touch of softness to both spaces.
To elevate the overall design, we incorporated niches and strip lighting, providing that extra layer of sophistication. The result is two distinct yet harmonious spaces, each tailored to the client's preferences and lifestyle, showcasing a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
