FAMILY BATHOOM, LAUNDRY & FLOORING
Revitalizing a family home while preserving its cherished mid-century charm was the essence of our Eltham North project. The focus was on modernizing key spaces without compromising the timeless aesthetic. The primary areas addressed included a family bathroom, a storage-limited laundry featuring an outdated troff, and the removal of slate in the main entryway, hallway, and study.
Our clients expressed a desire to bid farewell to the slate that once flowed through the heart of their home, deeming it outdated. In the quest for a modern yet mid-century-appropriate replacement, we chose 30x60 porcelain tiles. Employing a brick stack pattern in the narrow walkway area maintained the home's mid-century essence while infusing a fresh, contemporary look. The tile's texture emulated slate, providing a nod to the past with a decidedly modern twist. This cohesive tile choice seamlessly extended into the adjoining office space, bathroom, and laundry, ensuring a harmonious flow throughout the diverse spaces.
The laundry underwent a significant transformation, discarding the old-school troff in favor of modular cabinetry. This strategic decision not only introduced much-needed bench space but also incorporated overhead cupboards and chic shelving with a rail, enhancing functionality in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
Meanwhile, the office space, perched on a mezzanine overlooking the lounge area, required a custom touch. A bespoke benchtop and cabinetry in an L-shaped configuration were meticulously designed to align seamlessly with the finishes of the bathroom vanity and laundry cupboards. This intentional coordination created a cohesive visual narrative, tying together the entire space with a consistent look and feel.
In essence, the Eltham North project stands as a testament to our commitment to modernizing living spaces while preserving the distinctive character that makes each home unique. The result is not just a renovation but a thoughtful evolution that respects the past, embraces the present, and sets the stage for a stylish future.
