Transforming our Heidelberg Heights bathroom from a lacklustre space to a show-stopping oasis was our ultimate goal. Upon initial inspection, it was evident that the room lacked personality and charm, standing in stark contrast to the rest of the home's inviting ambiance. Our client, eager to inject a sense of drama and personality into the space, expressed a bold vision featuring striking gold accents and vibrant pink hues.
To fulfill this vision, we strategically implemented pink feature tiles along the primary wall, instantly commanding attention and setting the tone for the entire room. This impactful design choice ensured that the bathroom made a memorable impression.
Addressing the issue of natural light, we introduced a skylight to infuse the space with brightness, allowing the shimmering gold tapware and radiant pink tiles to truly shine. The addition of this architectural element not only illuminated the room but also accentuated its luxurious aesthetic, creating a captivating interplay of light and colour.
To complement the bold design elements, we opted for a light natural stone-look floor tile, infusing the space with warmth and balance. White satin tiles adorned the walls, serving as a cost-effective yet elegant solution to maximize light reflection and create an airy atmosphere.
Understanding the practical needs of our client, we replaced the existing inset bath with a modern acrylic freestanding model, ensuring a luxurious soaking experience while maintaining functionality for their regular bathing rituals. Additionally, the shower was ingeniously designed to double as a dog wash, catering to the needs of their beloved pets with a simplistic hand-held shower setup.
To add a layer of intrigue and sophistication, LED lighting was incorporated into the shower niche and under cabinet, creating dramatic accents that further enhanced the overall ambiance of the space. These thoughtful details not only elevated the aesthetic appeal but also contributed to the functionality and versatility of the bathroom, making it a true haven for relaxation and rejuvenation.
